World War IV is a closed ending strategic wargame. In the regular game, forty players control post-WWIII countries which have recovered the technology levels of approximately 1938. As the game progresses, countries improve their technology and fight for strategic resources. The game uses 124 different military units whose availability is based on tech recovery in five separate fields. Military units include airborne, marines, guided missile frigates, aircrafts and laser satellites, and more.
Each unit also has relative attack and defense strenghts but combat is not simply resolved by the comparison of combat factors. There are also economic and diplomatic aspects of the game, but these do not overshadow the basic concept of military action.

The object is simple to become the next super power. Each country has a different starting position strengths and weaknesses some have more potential enemies on their border but have more resources others have have less therefore player interaction is paramount in this game. If you do not communicate with other players especially those on your border you probably will find yourself anialated.

With carefully planning and development then your strategic decision will help you in your quest. The more money you spend on research the better units you will be able to build and with over 120 units choosing the the right unit to do the job is down to you.

Make allies and join your forces to overcome more powerfully countries, and then stab them in the back or not as the case may be. Sooner or later the way forward for you will be the total opposite of what other players want you to do this will result in World War IV. Can you take you tiny little country and turn it into the next major superpower?
