You enter the world of Horse Racing with a stable of thoroughbreds
Eight horses in all with a variety of skills, strengths and weaknesses and three jockeys under your employment. It's down to you to find the favoured distances and goings of each horse.
At the start of each new game you start off with two horses in the following ages 2,3,4,5. once you have received your turn you then have to decide which races are best to put each horse in over the course of the season and plan your way to glory.
However you can not just put any old horse in any old race each race has specific criteria that your runner must meet. For instance is it within the age range is it the right sex is it running the right distance etc.
Apart from grooming your horses into peak condition for the big races you also have to train you jockeys to improve their skill and also keep them at the right weight ( when was the last time you saw a 16 stone jockey.
Prize money may make the bulk of your gathered fortunes but ineffective management could see your stable go bust with you having to balance your books week in week out with costs for entering races paying jockeys traveling expenses and not for getting food and water. The only difference between this game and the real world of horse racing is you can bet on races. shrewd betting on long odds could make your stables become the wealthiest in the land.
Planning and forethought are the watchwords in this deep and tactical simulation. Every turn includes a 12-16 page newsletter containing all your results, written race reports and the coming schedule for betting and entry.
